Pre-dance classes are designed for children just beginning their dance experience. Classes offer a combination of basic dance positions, steps and exercises from the three dance disciplines: ballet, tap and jazz.
In ballet the student will learn grace, elegance, discipline, flexibility, stamina and endurance through classical, structured ballet technique.
Lyrical is a fluid form of dance done to popular ballads and slower contemporary music. The dancer is taught to interpret his or her movement with feeling and individual style.
An extension of ballet technique, a student must have taken ballet for 3 years and have the director’s permission to begin pointe classes
Tap students are taught to develop rhythm, style and sound. Exercises focus on building flexibility in the knees and ankles, increasing coordination and carefully controlling movement speed and precision.
Jazz students will learn to develop complex rhythms and patterns through various styles of jazz like Broadway and Contemporary. Ballet technique is layered with jazz movement to create crowd favorite performances.
Hip Hop is a succession of movements that represent the freedom to evolve, improvise and have fun. It is designed to help the dancer loosen up, learn rhythm and embrace individuality.
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several genres such as modern, jazz, lyrical and ballet. Dancers will strive to connect the mind and body through unique choreography.
Acro is a style of dance that combines classical dance with acrobatic technique. Gymnastics, balance and contortion tricks are safely taught based on each student's specific skill level. Registration Required.
